The Rice P4P Board consists of the Exec Team (Presidents and Vice-Presidents) and six committees: Event Planning, Food, Marketing, Treasurer, Secretary, and Volunteer Program Coordinators. The Board is responsible for organizing all the programming for P4P throughout the year. Click through the dropdown menu under “Meet the Board” to learn more about the 2021-2022 Board members!
Event Planning
Responsible for planning the first-ever, virtual alternative of our main P4P spring fundraiser, which will take the form of an educational conference to raise awareness about Parkinson’s, as well as a brain-themed escape room. Members will need to select a theme for the conference, recruit speakers as well as performers/entertainers, and manage speakers, performers, and schedule on the day of the event
Food
Responsible for organizing Pancakes Around the World (but a virtual cooking class format this year) as well as the normal P4P fundraiser event (managing relations with Rice H&D, including scheduling food training sessions, soliciting food donations from supermarkets and local vendors, and overseeing food service on the day of the event)
Marketing
Responsible for securing non-food donations from local businesses, managing relations with related organizations and the Houston community, publicizing the event to the Rice and Houston communities, and designing promotional materials and t-shirts
Treasurer
Responsible for managing club funds, writing grant proposals and procuring funds from campus funding sources, and making a donation to the Michael J. Fox Foundation and Houston Area Parkinson Society after the event
