Our team of 40 dedicated volunteers regularly supports Houston Area Parkinson’s Society (HAPS) events, including the No Falls Festival, Caregiver Conference, HAPS Gala, and their monthly exercise classes.
Volunteers join HAPS monthly exercise classes to learn directly from individuals living with Parkinson’s disease.
We also volunteer at the annual Houston Marathon, assisting with race-day operations and supporting participants throughout the event.
In addition, we host our Annual Spring Painting Event, where Rice students collaborate with individuals living with Parkinson’s Disease and their families to create a joint artwork. This event is hosted at the Moody Center for the Arts’ Flex Space, and we invite participants to explore their creativity while connecting with the Rice community. In partnership with HAPS, the Spring Painting Event is a highlight for both our guests and volunteers, offering a fun, relaxed atmosphere for meaningful conversations and artistic collaboration.
